What shipping carrier do you use and what services do you offer?
Our carrier is Fedex. We offer 2-day shipping (two business days from the date of shipment), standard overnight shipping (one business day from the date of shipment) and priority overnight shipping (will arrive by 10:30am by the next business day). In the winter, we offer ground shipping (1-5 business days from the day of shipment.) Priority Overnight is required for shipping to Hawaii.
How long is the handling time between when an order is placed and when it will ship?
We ship Monday through Wednesday. Orders placed on Wednesday with overnight shipping will be shipped Thursday; all other orders received Wednesday through Sunday will be shipped Monday. We do not ship Thursday through Sunday to ensure you receive the freshest product (and to avoid letting your chocolate sit and melt at FedEx over the weekend). We strongly suggest choosing overnight shipping if your order is shipping to a warm climate.
What if I'm unsure of the address?
Please double-check shipping addresses before submitting your order. Due to the natural fragility of chocolate and bonbons, Chocolate Maya cannot be responsible for orders delayed or returned due to incorrect or undeliverable addresses (i.e. PO boxes) provided by the customer.
Can I send chocolate to someone as a surprise?
We understand that you may want to send a gift as a surprise. However, in order to prevent errors, we recommend you notify the recipient of the shipment prior to arrival. Also, we encourage you to include a gift note in the "Review and Submit Order" section at checkout (for no additional fee) so that your recipient knows to thank you.
Can I include a gift note?
Absolutely! You have the option of writing us a note in the "Review and Submit Order" section at checkout. Please let us know that you would like to attach a gift note and write your message (in 150 characters or less).

Are any of your products dairy-free?
Yes! We make a collection of vegan bonbons, and most of our dark chocolate bars are made with just sugar and chocolate, so they're also vegan. Vegan bonbons are labeled in our flavor map.
Are any of your products gluten-free?
Yes! Most of our bonbons and dark chocolate bars are gluten-free. Gluten-free bonbons are labeled in our flavor map and in our online shop and gluten-free bars are labeled in our online shop.
Do your products contain tree nuts?
Some do. Please email or call us if you have a nut allergy, as many of our chocolates are made on shared equipment that also processes nuts.
Do your products contain sunflower or soy lecithin?
Nearly all our bonbons contain soy or sunflower lecithin, and should be avoided if you have an allergy. However, most of our craft chocolate bars do not contain any soy or sunflower lecithin. We are happy to help you find chocolate that's right for you, so please do not hesitate to email or call us.
Do your products contain alcohol?
Some do. All products with alcohol include the name of the alcohol in their description on the flavor map. If you have any doubts about a product, please do not hesitate to email or call us.

How long will my confections stay fresh?
Our products are preservative-free and made with fresh ingredients, so the sooner they're eaten, the better. Eat confections within 10 days.
How should I store my confections and bars?
Store all chocolate in a dry place removed from direct sunlight, like a cupboard, and avoid temperatures above 70 degrees fahrenheit. Do not refrigerate!
Can I choose flavors to make a custom box?
You can choose bonbons or bars to make your custom box or bundle in-store, or by emailing us at email@example.com
Do you accept returns?
Our goal is to completely satisfy all customers. We are perfectionists and guarantee that our chocolates leave our facility in peak condition. Due to the perishable nature of our product, we are unable to provide refunds or exchanges for items that are not damaged or defective. If you receive a damaged or defective item, please contact us at 805.965.5956 immediately.
